Kirsten “Kirsty” Alfaro
Family Advocate
Before beginning her career at DCI, Kirsten was a Youth Director with the Durham YMCAs. She loves working with young people and also got the opportunity to be a camp director at Camp Frontier. The Y was there for her family when they truly needed them and it was the people that she met along the way that helped shape her into who she is today. Prior to her time at the YMCA, Kirsten worked as a Lead Outreach Worker with Manos Unidas in Atkinson, NC, where she was able to do case management and support farmworkers in finding healthcare resources and building the gap in accessibility to them.
Kirsten has an amazing step-son who just started Kindergarten this year and her ultimate partner in crime is her 8 year old puppy, Charles! Family is everything to her, and she is passionate about supporting families and young people in reaching their goals- whatever they may be.
