Tequira is a Youth Coach Manager. She first joined DCI as a Master of Social Work intern, working with the Advocate Team in January 2022. A few months after completing her internship, Tequira return to DCI to help develop and implement new programming to support DCI’s elementary and middle school youth. She earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from Western Carolina University in 2016 and is currently in the final year of her Master of Social Work studies. 

The best advice Tequira has ever received are summed up in two quotes: “Just keep swimming,” and, “You have not, because you ask not.”(The Bible, James 4:2) Tequira’s happy place is anywhere. She believes happiness is a choice; it’s not always an easy one, but it is still a choice.
