Vikki Leathers
Communications & Partnerships Director
Vikki joined DCI in 2021 as an Academic Coach after a diverse career as an Educator with Durham Public Schools; she taught high school, middle school, and elementary level classes. As the Academic Coaching position was ending for the year, she moved to a full-time position as a Family Advocate and enjoyed directly supporting DCI’s families. Currently, she is the Communications and Partnerships Director creating and implementing internal and external communications collateral and processes to advance the vision and work of DCI. Vikki graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a B.A. in English. Then, after moving to Durham from St. Louis, Missouri, and realizing she wanted to teach, she earned a B.A. from North Carolina Central University in Secondary English Education.
Vikki loves spending time with her husband and three amazing children. Her favorite school memories include attending her children’s extracurricular activities, awards ceremonies, and graduations.
