Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Durham Children’s Initiative. DCI’s goal is to build a reliable volunteer base that can be utilized across the needs of DCI programs and services. Our volunteer page lists ways that you can volunteer and roles that you may sign up for. Please note that after you apply, your name will be added to our volunteer base, and you will be contacted on an as-needed basis.
*All volunteers will be required to complete our Child Safeguard Training before volunteering directly with youth. DCI may also conduct a background check of volunteers in accordance with our child safeguarding policy.
DCI Staff are always looking for opportunities to enhance their skills and gain more knowledge in a multitude of different areas. Volunteer to host or lead a training for DCI Staff.
Through our Workforce Development Department, you or your organization, business, or company can host job site visits or various other forms of career exploration for DCI Youth.
Have a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math (STEAM) related career or a career that you think DCI’s youth would be interested in learning more about? Support DCI programs by working directly with youth. This may include reading to students, assisting with activities and crafts, and other tasks to support student learning and engagement.
Assist DCI Staff during any workshops or programs by helping pass out materials, supporting program needs, and helping to maintain orderly conduct amongst students.
