Kaitlyn Thompson

Parent Alliance Specialist

Kaitlyn joined DCI in June 2024 as the Parent Alliance Specialist, assisting with parent programming and carrying a caseload of DCI families. Kaitlyn is passionate about empowering families with knowledge and resources to overcome barriers to success, and has a background in case management for families with children and leading youth support groups. Kaitlyn graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work from NC State University, and is currently earning her Master of Social Work from Appalachian State University.

In her free time, Kaitlyn loves to travel with her husband and family, watch football, cross-stitch, spend time outdoors, and read. Her favorite books change from time-to-time, but she’ll always love The Hobbit and have a soft spot for Harry Potter. Her happy place is spending a fall day outside in the mountains with her family.
